Bury Drop In appeals for urgent support to keep vital homeless sessions running this Winter

While many of us are nestled warm indoors, making lists for loved ones, planning festive feasts and getting the Christmas decorations out of the loft, there are people in our community who are making a different kind of list – a list for survival. They are not dreaming of gifts; they are simply hoping for a safe, warm place to come to for a few hours of support, as well as a hot meal, and the basic emergency provisions.

After a difficult childhood and a series of devasting events, Mark (not his real name) fell into homelessness and alcohol misuse as a way to cope with trauma and pain. Today – three years on – Mark is in temporary accommodation and regularly attends Bury Drop In. With support from our volunteers and partner agencies, Mark has begun his journey of recovery and rebuilding his life.

Stories like this show what’s possible when people receive the right help at the right time. With more people than ever turning to us for support, together we can make a difference.

  • £25: provides five emergency food vouchers to someone sleeping rough.
  • £100: helps a guest to move from emergency accommodation
  • £200: buys essential items such as a bed and mattress

Every donation makes a difference. Please give what you can and help us bring hope to those facing homelessness this Winter. Visit our donate webpage today.
