Bury Drop In awarded grant funding to promote healthy living

Bury Drop In is thrilled to receive £5,000 grant funding from the Community Support Fund, awarded by Suffolk Community Foundation. The money will be used to promote healthy living and cost-effective cooking at the Drop In. Each session, every Tuesday and Friday, includes a free meal shared together with volunteers, whilst engaging in conversation, sharing problems, and gaining confidence. The charity is aware that with the rising costs of living, it is important to encourage healthier food choices. Research shows that a diet rich in foods like fruit and vegetables can make a big difference to mental health. Robert Green, chair of trustees said: “At a time of unprecedented rises in the cost of living, it is the most vulnerable who feel it the most. The Bury Drop In are delighted to have received this money which will be focused on benefiting guests through healthy eating. We’re grateful for all the generous support we receive from individuals, local government, churches and praying people across West Suffolk.”
