Homelessness is not a lifestyle choice
The Bury St Edmunds Christmas lights event held on 16th November proved to be a successful event. There was a short downpour of rain, but nothing like we experienced last year with gusty winds and heavy rain. In response to government’s recent controversial statement, that homelessness is a “lifestyle choice”, we set up a tent with a sleeping bag inviting questions and informing passers-by with genuine facts about homelessness. Our amazing volunteers did an excellent job of handing out over 400 mince pies whilst chatting to people about how we support people experiencing homelessness in Bury St Edmunds.
