Bury Drop In launches emergency dental care for guests

Bury Drop In is set to launch dental treatment to registered guests. The charity recognise that many homeless and vulnerable people face obstacles in accessing dental care.  As there is no NHS dental care available in West Suffolk, the charity has decided to primarily fund two sessions, provided by Community Dental Service, to offer emergency dental treatment to people who are in severe dental pain. The project will be financially funded by the charity and has received praise from the West Suffolk Council rough sleeper service and NHS health outreach team.

Sabine Dornbusch, General manager at Bury Drop In, said: “many of our guests haven’t seen a dentist for years and it affects their confidence, as well as living with severe dental pain. We can help breakdown these barriers by supplying dental treatment, we can offer dental treatment to the most marginalised people in society.”

Bury Drop In is appealing to the public and local businesses for donations to financially help fund the project. To find out about the different ways to donate to Bury Drop In, visit https://www.burydropin.org/donate/.
