Bury Drop In celebrates volunteers who make the charity ‘tick’.

We are celebrating our devoted and valued volunteers as part of a week-long celebration. Volunteers’ week, held from 3rd – 9th June and coincides with the Big Help Out weekend this year, is a time when we can say thank you to volunteers for the contribution that they make to our community. The week also raises awareness about the benefits of becoming a volunteer and the volunteering roles that are available. Over the last year, our volunteers dedicated 4,268 hours of their time to support guests during drop in sessions, held twice weekly, 11am-1.30pm. We will be sharing a series of social media campaigns over the week to celebrate our volunteers. In addition to awarding certificates of thanks in recognition of commitment to the Bury Drop In, a volunteer BBQ has been organised early July.

Chair of trustees, Robert Green, said: “The volunteers of Bury Drop In bring a rich mix of skills, life experience, faith and compassion. They truly make the charity ’tick’ and we are delighted to celebrate them during Volunteer Week 2024. A big thank you to all our volunteers, past, present and future!”

Become a volunteer with Bury Drop In. Whether you’re looking to meet new people, or give back to the community, there are lots of different ways to get involved. Every role is different, from befriending guests to helping out with donations. You do not need any experience of volunteering, all we ask of you is that you are over 18, and are compassionate, identify with our values, friendly and reliable. For more information and to fill in our online application form, visit our volunteer webpage.

Thank you to our volunteers.
